The Lim boys flew to KK, Sabah

Image
Isaac & Ivan really love aeroplanes & to certain extent, helicopters too. There are plenty of aeroplanes & helicopters that fly pass our house in the mornings for some strange unbelievable reasons (although our house is nothing near the airports). So whenever we go cycling in the mornings, we would catch a few sightings of these air transports. With their growing interest in these air transports, both Sze Weng & I planned to bring them for a ride when we could afford it. Blessing came knocking on our doors in early Oct 2010. Due to God’s unmerited favor, I received a special bonus which is enough to bring the whole family for a short weekend holiday to KK, Sabah. After some research, reviews & sourcing around for deals that fits into our budget, we decided on Nexus Resort Karambunai, KK, Sabah. It was part of airasia.com deal and for Rm4,008 we could even bring my parents along! Quite a deal for 4 adults, 2 children on a 3D2N stay in a 5-star resort in KK…that w

F1 racer in the making..!?

Recently, my parents bought this car for the boys. It brought back a lot of memories to me coz I used to have a similar looking car during my childhood. Amazing that all these old school toys are still being sold in this day & age. One may think all that kids nowadays play with are PSP, iPod touch, Gameboy, etc. Sze Weng & I try to expose our kids to basic toys like this car, good ol' playground, bicycle, hide & seek etc - well for nostalgic reason as well as these toys are great in making them sweat & burn all those hyper-energy they constantly have..haha!! *****

Love is in the air...our 4th wedding anniversary celebration!

Image
A quick flashback to 12th August 2006. We went for our ROM on that beautiful Saturday morning. "Ok, that hairstyle is kinda out for me..aiks! But hubby looks great" Fast forward to 12th August 2010, we celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary yesterday. It was a beautiful Thursday morning, hubby Sze Weng drove me to work (to a workshop @ Gardens Hotel, KL). He found out that I was not going to the office whole day that day, so he quickly informed the florist to send the bouquet of flower to me @ Gardens. He had it all planned, ordered for a bouquet of flower in early Aug, giving ample time for the florist to work on her 'masterpiece'..nice. At about 10.10am, the bouquet of flower was delivered. Wow..I didn't expect it and was very surprised! Pleasantly surprised that it is :) "What a beautiful creation..my dear loh kung knows exactly what flowers I like!" "Cam-whore somemore with the bouquet of flower..hehe" "This is where we went fo

How to organize a great kid’s party

Image
As our kids grow up, we get invited to more & more kid’s party as we are now in the ‘parents with growing kids’ community. Not an expert, but I have my expectations of what kid’s party should and shouldn’t be. Over the weekend, we attended a friend's kid’s 4 th birthday party at McDonalds Centrepoint, Bandar Utama. It was a complete let-down, we did not expect much but the whole party is a total havoc, to say the least. My conclusion : McD staffs have very poor party planning & management skill, no service with a smile and certainly the food served does not seem right for the kids. Well if you think organizing a kid’s party is easy, please think again! Let’s see…how could it ever be more difficult than any other party for the grown ups? 1. Most importantly, kids take nap in the afternoon to charge up (which most adults do not!) So deciding the time of the party is very essential to set the right mood for the party. Imagine throwing a party at ar

Our 2nd honeymoon to Turkey 8-17 June 2010

In Ankara where it was almost towards the end of our honeymoon trip to Turkey , Sze Weng asked me “Dear, how would you rate this Turkey trip? Will you come back for more?” Without a doubt, I answered him “10/10 and YES will definitely come back, to cover Eastern Turkey !!” Turkey is such a beautiful country with majestic historical architecture dating back to Roman, Greek & Otoman empires, magnificent nature scenes and significantly rich culture, that even a rock at some hillside is at least 2 centuries’ old and superbly rich with stories. It was never our choice destination for our 2 nd honeymoon till I heard from my best friend, Joanne who came back from Turkey last year and sang praises about it. After some research through forums, we were captivated with the beauty & magnificence of the country that we decided we could NOT resist it. We traveled for 10 days throughout the Western side of Turkey ; from Istanbul to Pamukkale, then on to Cappadocia and Ankara and bac
