Our New World

We took some time off to transform Isaac's current room into a DIY music studio room over the last 2 weeks. These were the processes which we went through and most of the planning were done by Isaac; to bring to fruition his dream music studio room! 1) Removed the old long table in his current room. This table is now in my dad's room. 2) Removed his single bed - frame has been given away to recycle item collector. We kept the mattress. 3) Painted the whole room - a feature wall using Nippon's Oxford River turned out to be really beautiful light modern grey colour. The other walls were painted a new coat of white. The room is now bright & refreshed! haha.. 4) Got the electrician to remove the ceiling fan and to install a wall fan. 5) Purchased an IKEA bunk bed which came with a proper desk & storage cabinets at the bottom half. The installer came on Saturday to fix the bed & now Ivan sleeps in this bunk bed. 6) DIY music studio equipments being assembled by Isaac...

What a pleasant way to end year 2020 - dating with my boys to celebrate my birthday!  By the time December arrived, Malaysia had managed to bring down the number of covid cases so it was RMCO (Recovery Movement Control Order) phase. Which meant we are allowed to go out for meals but we MUST observe strict SOP to maintain social distancing, wear mask & constantly sanitise our hands. The boys took turn to "date" me - they planned for the outing; which restaurant to go to for meal & what else to do and they also paid for everything with their pocket money... WOW! feeling so so so very blessed. The first "date" was with Ian on 26th Dec 2020, Saturday. He took me to Subway in Sri Petaling for our lunch & paid for the sandwich combo meals. Then we walked over to the newly-opened MR DIY store to shop for my birthday present. He bought me a 'congkak set' and of course, he also bought himself a new toy set haha. I may have said this several times in the past few months "Time really flies... a blink of an eye and Isaac is turning 12 soon!" Preparation for this mega event started in early July when Sze Weng showed me an FB posting of BlasterParty MY, a local company that organises Nerf-gun themed parties or events. We started communicating with the owner Brien Chia, who is a very helpful and friendly guy. He sounded extremely experienced in organising these parties/events and he is very flexible with the various changes we made. After changing the party venue to Renewal Lutheran Church compound (instead of the initially-planned Seventeen Residences), we started liaising with church Pastors and coordinator to ensure everything is ready for this memorable day - 5th October 2019, Saturday @ 11am-2pm. Here is the party invite which we sent to the parents of Isaac's closest friends : We had 12 kids and 10 adults who attended the party... food & drinks became secondary...
